Claude Platform arrives on Google Cloud
On 22 October 2026 Anthropic made Claude Models on Google Cloud (Anthropic managed) generally available: the Claude API operated by Anthropic and reached through a customer's Google Cloud project, with Google Cloud IAM for access, one Google Cloud invoice and drawdown of existing Google Cloud commitments. Anthropic says new features and betas ship there the same day as on its own platform; fast mode for Claude Opus 5.5 is included. Claude also stays available through Google's own managed offering.
Why it matters
Claude was already on Google Cloud through Google's managed offering, where Google is the data processor; the route run by Anthropic puts the customer's Google Cloud identity and billing in front of Anthropic's own API and its newest features. The announcement makes that feature parity its main argument; the page names US and Global endpoints and mentions no other regions.

Fast mode for Claude Opus 5.5 is available on the offering: up to 2.5 times faster output generation, $8 and $40 per million input and output tokens. Endpoints are US and Global. The platform release note of the same date says: "the Claude API operated by Anthropic and reached through your Google Cloud project. Google Cloud IAM controls access. Google Cloud Marketplace handles billing." What the record does not claim. The page gives specific terms only for Claude Opus 5.5; a list of other models on it was not read. Where data is processed under the Anthropic-managed offering the page does not say. "The same day" for new features is Anthropic's statement. The customer quotations were not used.
