OpenAI models coming to Google Cloud
On 21 October 2026 OpenAI and Google Cloud announced a partnership to bring OpenAI's frontier models and Codex agent workflows into Google Cloud's Model Garden, to be bought through the Google Cloud Marketplace and paid from existing Google Cloud commitments. OpenAI models are also to arrive "soon" in Google Antigravity and the Gemini Agent. General availability is planned for the coming weeks; access can be requested now.
Why it matters
The post puts OpenAI's models beside other vendors' in a rival cloud's catalogue, billed through that cloud's marketplace and its customers' spending commitments. It announces a future arrangement: it names no model, price or date beyond "the coming weeks", says Microsoft remains OpenAI's primary cloud partner, and comes from OpenAI alone; Google Cloud's own page was not read.
What the post says. Customers will "purchase OpenAI frontier models via model garden, transacted through the Google Cloud Marketplace", and enterprises with Google Cloud spend commitments will be able to draw them down. The integration is said to pair the models with Google Cloud's built-in access controls and centralized data governance, with regulated industries in mind. OpenAI models "will soon be available" in Google Antigravity and the Gemini Agent. Greg Brockman and Thomas Kurian are quoted. Status: "General availability is planned in the coming weeks. Request access to OpenAI on Google Cloud here." Microsoft remains OpenAI's primary cloud partner. What the record does not claim. The page does not give the models' names, prices or regions, or say whether the models hosted at Google are operated by Google or by OpenAI. Google Cloud's page was not read. "Partnering" is OpenAI's word.
