SK hynix passes 100 trillion won

On 28 October 2026 SK hynix reported third-quarter revenue of 104.6155 trillion won, its first above 100 trillion, operating profit of 83.3338 trillion (a margin of 80 per cent) and net profit of 39.7756 trillion. The company says HBM4 shipments began in earnest in the quarter and expects HBM4 to pass HBM3E in volume and revenue in the fourth quarter.

Why it matters

The quarter shows how far AI demand has moved the memory market: revenue rose 32 per cent on the second quarter (79.3187 trillion), which the company ties to HBM4 and server memory, and it cites long-term agreements covering more than half of 2027–2028 capacity and a memory shortage lasting to 2030. These are the company's own results and forecasts.

What the release says. Revenue 104.6155 trillion won (+32% on the second quarter), operating profit 83.3338 trillion (+38%; margin 80%), net profit 39.7756 trillion (margin 38%); revenue exceeded 100 trillion won for the first time. At the end of the quarter cash stood at 114.5 trillion, borrowings at 15.8, net cash at 98.7. HBM4: shipments "began in earnest"; the M15X fab will be ramped to maximum capacity by the end of the year; HBM4 is expected to surpass HBM3E in shipment volume and revenue in the fourth quarter and become the mainstream product. Long-term agreements with 14 major customers, including cloud providers, cover more than 50% of 2027 and 2028 capacity, with a mechanism that reflects market conditions within an agreed price range. The company expects demand to exceed supply through 2030. CEO Kwak Noh-Jung explained the decision to discontinue the review of the Solidigm IPO; gains from the Kioxia investment go to shareholders, and shareholder returns for fiscal 2026 total about 100 trillion won (cash dividends of 30 trillion or more, repurchases and cancellations of 60 trillion or more). What the record does not claim. The page names no accounting standard and gives no comparison with the year before; the figures are the company's own, and the page does not say they are audited. The forecasts about HBM4, capacity and the shortage to 2030 are the company's words. The filing made to the exchange was not read.
