Models No. 13 and No. 32 from NATO and Ukraine

On 13 October 2026 the Ministry of Defence said that the NATO-Ukraine Joint Analysis, Training and Education Centre (JATEC) had presented two AI developments: "Model No. 13" predicts enemy UAV use near the line of contact, "Model No. 32" helps plan one's own artillery operations. They were developed by NATO Allied Command Transformation and the Armed Forces of Ukraine with JATEC taking part.

Why it matters

The record puts on the page a joint development of operational AI tools with NATO. For Model No. 13 the ministry claims readiness for integration; for Model No. 32 only the handing of a prototype over for testing; the text gives no accuracy figure.

What the page says. The presentation took place at a three-day seminar in Vilnius with experts from NATO countries and military experts from Ukrainian Defence Forces units. Model No. 13 predicts the use of enemy UAVs near the line of contact from earlier data, weather and the current situation, and is meant to determine "with high probability" the intensity, areas, time windows and types of drones; the solution, the text says, has passed testing on real data sets, been refined and is ready for integration into the Armed Forces' situational-awareness systems. Model No. 32 is a decision-support module that "tests the possibility" of automated generation of artillery operation plans: it first discards infeasible options on logistics, ballistics and the effect zone, then assesses and ranks the permissible ones; if tests and validation succeed it has the potential to scale. A prototype has been handed to Ukrainian customers for testing. What the record does not claim: any accuracy or decision-time figure; the data used or the type of model; the dates of the seminar; who the "customers" are; that the models are already used in combat. "With high probability" is the ministry's wording with no number.
