World API: worlds on request

On 21 January 2026 World Labs launched a public World API: from text, images, panoramas or video it generates on request a three-dimensional world that can be shown on the web or exported to simulators.

Why it matters

Making a world became a call from a program rather than work in an interface; this is the model’s route into other products and simulations. An editorial assessment: the uses are from the company’s post, with no independent confirmation.

By the post, a request is asynchronous and each answer is a navigable world; inputs are text, one or several images, a 360-degree panorama and video. It is stated that worlds can be exported to NVIDIA Isaac Sim, MuJoCo and RoboSuite. Users and partners named: Escape.ai, Lightwheel (a research collaboration), Interior AI, xFigura, Preview, Fenestra, and a testimonial from SHoP Architects. Access is through the World Labs platform: keys, usage, billing and credits. What the record does not state. The post names no prices, rate limits, volumes or model version; nothing is measured of the worlds’ quality in simulators. The partners are named by the company itself.
