Humanoids counted for the first time by half-year
Smart Analytics Global published humanoid shipment figures: 19,100 units worldwide in the first half of 2026, up 272% from 5,100 a year earlier, with AgiBot at 8,400 units and Unitree at 5,900.
Why it matters
Until there was a unit count, the humanoid sector was a hundred press releases with no denominator. Nineteen thousand in six months, three quarters of them from two makers and over 70% going to industrial and commercial use, measures what actually ships and to whom, in place of a census of models.
The note came from the firm’s Robotics 360 division and was written by its founder, Linda Sui. AgiBot shipped approximately 8,400 humanoids, a 44% global share, overtaking Unitree with about 5,900 units and 31%. Together the two makers account for roughly 75% of global shipments. Industrial and commercial applications made up more than 70% of shipments, against about 50% a year earlier. The full-year 2026 projection is approaching 60,000 units and about 1.6 billion US dollars in revenue. These are one firm’s estimates, not audited figures; Counterpoint Research published its own count for the same period, which was not compared here. Separately, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology is reported to have counted more than 140 domestic humanoid makers and over 330 models released during 2025; that census was not checked against a primary document and is not used as a fact here. The shares agree and the counts do not: the two firms count shipments differently, and neither is an audit.
