Two hundred million miles is roughly the distance American drivers cover between fatal crashes several dozen times over, which is a sample large enough to compare rates of events rather than individual cases. The company built the post around lessons rather than the record, which is telling: after a decade of demonstrations the main asset is not a new capability but accumulated mileage that nobody else has.
