What was wrong

The 6-in-1 showed two open cards and said they had not worked. Before the text stood a date with kind and topic, a line of lines, an automatic-collection badge, a source count and a star. The main action, the way to the event page, was the thinnest link at the bottom, and the list of relations with its notes sat between it and the text.

The star

The star was checked in the code before it was removed. It is the save-for-later button, and it feeds the ★ counter in the top bar; it is not an importance mark. So it did not go: in the card it moved to the bottom and now says Save / Saved, while the ★ with its counter above stays the way into the saved records.

What it is now

The date, then one row of chips: kind, topic, lines. Then the title and the text. Relations are laid out in time: earlier, same period, later, nearest first. The nearest three on each side are in view, the rest folded into “N more” but still in the document, so nothing about the neighbour count is hidden. The direction of each claim stays on its row. One foot: sources and status on the left, Save and Read event on the right.

What was not invented

A record with a year and no month is never called earlier or later than a record of that year with a month: its source made no such claim. Those go in a group of their own, Same period. At first the Mead card, October 1990, put the Intel record dated “1990” under earlier, and it showed in the screenshot.
